現任德國漢堡大學教授

 

簡介

1960 – 1963: Studies in the Teacher Training Department of Bielefeld;

1963 – 1967: working as teacher in Primary and Secondary Schools;

1966 – 1970: university studies (university of Bochum and university of Münster) in theory of education, philosophy and literature/linguistics.

1970: Dissertation on the concept of “Bildung” (self-formation) in the philosophy of F. Nietzsche

1973: post-doctoral lecture qualification with a thesis on the constitution of intersubjectivity in teaching and learning interaction

1973 – 1974: Professor (Theory of Education) in the Teacher Training Department of Münster;

since 1974: Professor (chair) at the Department fort he Foundations of Education, University of Hamburg.

 

Some professional activities:

1981 – 1998: responsible of the “Hamburg Symposiums” on “Interaktion und Lebenslauf”  (“Interaction and Biography”)

Since 1986: stays at regular intervals in the western province of Cameroon, West Africa, doing fieldwork concerning the question how Bamiléké-people cope with problems such as emerging in social transformation, but unknown in the social stock of knowledge.

 

Since 1991: scientific responsible for the development and the concept of a primary school based upon the results of the fieldwork, and responsible for the corresponding teacher training work in the western province of Cameroon.

1998: Organization of an international symposium in the university of Hamburg on the results of the fieldwork and the research done in Cameroon.

1999: Scientific responsible for an international colloquium in Cameroon held in order to start the political process of constructing an university institute of professional teacher training named IPSOM (“Institut Pédagogique pour Sociétés en Mutation”).

Since 1999: President of the scientific advisory board of IPSOM and scientific responsible for its concept and further development. Location: Bandjoun, near Bafoussam in the western province of Cameroon.

Since 2001: Several speeches and workshops on different topics of biographic analysis in National Cheng-Chi University of Taipei, in the teacher training department of the National Taitung University and in the National Dong Hwa University of Hualien.

2005: September, 30: due to my age, official retirement (but remaining a regular member of Hamburg University with the right of lifelong teaching and doing research in the university’s context).

2005: October, 3: opening of IPSOM.

2006 – 2008: regular stays in Cameroon and in Taiwan.
